Career / Fashion And Style
She commenced her career in the Kannada Film “Operation Jackpot Nalli C.I.D 999” in 1999. After that, she featured in the Telugu film “Amma Kosam.” She made her Bollywood debut with the film “Sawan Bhadon” and this film was a hit at the box office.
Furthermore, she featured in commercial hit films like “Do Anjaane,” “Raampur Ka Lakshman,” “Kahani Kismat Ki,” “Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye,” “Ghar,” and “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.” She played the role of ‘Manju Dayal’ in the comedy “Khubsoorat” in 1980.
In next year she featured in “Umrao Jaan” which was considered one of the best performances of her career and also earned her a National Award for Best Actress. She acted alongside Amitabh Bachchan in numerous films in which most of the films were huge hits.
She appeared in one of the most scandalous films ‘Silsila’ in 1981 opposite Amitabh Bachchan and it was the last film they did together. She lent her voice for Neetu Singh in Yaarana and for Smita Patil in Waaris. She also sings two songs in her movie “Khoobsoorat” at the behest of R. D. Burman.
