She started her career by teaching as an elementary teacher after her marriage. In view of Nita’s interest in reading, Dhirubhai Ambani International School was established in 2003 and she serves as the founder and president of this school.
She set up a charitable trust called Reliance Foundation in 2010 and looks after the social and charitable work of Reliance Industries. Through this trust, she provided education, health, arts-culture, and sports facilities in rural areas and this is the largest private charitable trust in the country.
